Robert J. Girardi's Chugchanga-L Poll 2001 Entry

Ok, here it is, in no particular order:

Mercury Rev - Deserters Songs
(I don't know, I like this & the last one better than the old ones)
Vincent Gallo -When
(beautiful & arrogant)
King Crimson - Level 5
(tour only CD. Equally as good as anything they've done,... really!)
The Uniform - Black & Vain
(catchy lyrical noisy punk, I recorded it, so I'm biased, but it's great.)
Mark Ribot - Saints
(guitar anti-god)
Plunderphonics box
(really a curiosity, but required listening for the cut & paste set)
Radiohead - Amnesiac
Love Life - The Rose He Lied By
(Baltimore doom & gloom, horns & circular drumming & guitarorgan, great singer)
Nick Cave - No More Shall We Part
(Would have been better if Nick & Blixia had not mixed it. Where is the snare?)
Bjork - Vespertine
Rob Halford - Ressurection
(balls out no bullshit heavy metal, catch him live, really)
Rob Halford - Live Insurrection
( Can't decide which I like more!)
Convocation Of... - Pyramid Technology
( Baltimore ROCK, one of the best drummers ever, Tonie Joy loosens up and uses his Wah Wah pedal)
Cicaeda - A Breathing Space
(Ok, so it is my band.. It did come out this year...)

Highlights, - John Paul Jones opening for King Crimson and going to
Cambodia and discovering their version of Rock & Roll!
