Karl, Brian, Aaron, and David's good hand play
Space Pigs.
I'm guessing it's kind of silly.
Meanwhile, Matt, Paul, Greg, Mark, Bill (not pictured), and I went
upstairs for
Barbarossa.
(David got this by mistake when he ordered
World War
II: Barbarossa to Berlin, but I was glad because I'd been wanting
to try it out.) It's kind of silly also, but I think it's more
interesting than just your average Pictionary-with-clay party game.
It is by Klaus "Catan"
Teuber, after all!
What are these sculptures? (answers)
I taught Brian and Paul to play
Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation.
Somehow, the dark side won both times!
As always, there was a
Tichu
game going on. Tonight's addicts were Aaron, Melissa, Karl, and Bill M.
We had started the night off with
Hang In There,
but I had forgotten to take any action shots. This is an aerial view
of the jungle, as well as the remains of the Pigs in Space counter
sheet and Greg's birthday cake (it was also Bill's birthday a few days
before).
A side view. The leaf-shaped levers raise and lower the side trees.
A view with the pieces in play. The trees all slowly rotate, and by
lifting and lowering the side trees you have to manipulate your pieces
onto the beach at the end of the jungle, starting from the other end.
You can try to knock the opponent's pieces off when they rotate over
your trees, but the tree rotation periodically changes direction so
you sometimes have a chance to get a piece all the way through the
jungle without being exposed to your opponent's trees.
Greg, Bill, and Matt's arm take some post-mortem practice shots on a
Grey Owl
Crokinole
board.
Bill, Matt, Mark, Greg and I finished off the night with a classic,
Members Only,
as Paul spectates. Bill got off to an early lead; I almost caught up,
but in the end Bill beat me by two points.
